Millom are top of the table after easing
clear of previously unbeaten Rangers with the help of a 14-point
blitz in the five minutes before half time.
Stanley, who were ill-served by the final
scoreline, were on level terms after having replied to a Ross
Brooks try and two Paul Evans goals with a Gareth Whitehead touchdown
and a conversion and a penalty by Danny Grice.
But the Maroons shot to a 22-8 interval lead
through a try and three goals by Evans and a Craig Wilson try.
Evans went on to total 30 points with three tries and nine goals,
Wilson added a second touchdown, and Bradd Crellin also crossed.
Stanley’s response was limited to a Craig Rhodes score three
minutes from time, Grice adding the extras. |
