Millom entertained Sharlston A, from the
Pennine League, who travelled with 13 players, including 50 year
old coach John Brewerton. The game was played under atrocious
conditions and despite a brave performance by the visitiors the
result was never in doubt!
The maroons ran in eight tries from Elliott
Miller 2, Curtis Mossop 2, Andrew Mellen, Ross Brookes, Midge
Dixon, Paul Carter and Craig Wilson, along with 2 goals each for
Paul Evans and Nathan Mossop.
The man of the match awards went to Paul Carter
and Curtis Mossop.

Millom sauntered through to the first
round proper of the BARLA National Cup thanks to a 44-0 defeat of
Sharlston Rovers A. The Yorkshire League second string gave their
all and had outstanding Paul ooper in their ranks, but they were
no match for the National Conference League second division promotion
contenders.
Millom led 24-0 at half time and ran in nine tries that included
a brace apiece from Curtis Mossop and Elliott Miller, whilst Andrew
Mellen, Ross Brooks, Anthony Dixon, Craig Wilson and Paul Carter
added others to which Paul Evans and Nathan Mossop added two goals
apiece. |
